Night Song

Sometimes, I "retire" poems and stories that are good-ish but not quite good enough.  Maybe they struck my fancy at the time of writing but waned later.

Or, maybe I'm just sick of submitting them and seeing that "Thanks, but..." letter come back.

So, from time to time, I might just drop them here so they have a chance to maybe, possibly, perhaps resonate with someone.

~ Mick, S.D.G.

Night Song

Huddled in my damp cloak
I hear the last wolf-man
Singing in the distance.

Inhaling the midnight
Of his cool, vivid world
Does he catch a strange scent

Of a lone visitor
Waiting in his forest
With a silver dagger?
